Most people working with big projects can agree on one thing: Project management can be demanding! Keeping track of a lot of people with many tasks, usually spread over a larger physical area, such as a construction site or a large office space, is not always easy.

Luckily, there are now high-tech solutions that simplify and streamline the process for us. By now, most 'techies' knows about the Idea Wall, but for the rest of us mere mortals it's still a bit "out there"… Even if we can see how cool it looks and where we could potentially implement it in our every-day business, we still lack the insight into how we can actually increase productivity by using it.

Tonsberg, a Norwegian construction company, invested in an Idea Wall and immediately implemented in their day-to-day work, and the results are quite impressive, to say the least.

"The amount of paperwork is dramatically reduced. It is a demanding job to handle paper-based floor plans for reinforcement and it takes a long time with revisions and updates, and this is something we have cut significantly" says Paal Trollsaas, Advisory Engineer.

Not only did they start saving money on trivial things like paper right away, they also solved what used to be time-consuming tasks in matter of minutes by allowing more people to work on the same project simultaneously. Using the Idea Wall gives a direct and very noticeable time saving when it comes to various design process.

"We can solve things in 30 minutes that would have taken two weeks earlier", points out Inge Aarseth, referring to the traditional sequential work processes -where a person resolved a case before passing on to the next person. The Idea Wall allows you to work closely, and in real-time, with colleagues across sites, cities and even countries.

It's basically a state of the art super tool that can make project management a game, and with the time savings and the benefits of the more efficient work methodology, it's applicable for just about any industry across the UAE.
